Morere Hot Springs Lodge and Cabins is a collection of quaint accommodation options just 250 metres walk from the hot springs. The entrance is off State Highway 2 by the Morere Tearooms where a rustic farm track drops down through bush to ford a clear running mountain stream, then rises to emerge in a tranquil rural glade surrounded by 15 hectares of planted woodland. The Homestead, the Cottage and the Cabins are dotted around the glade. In the summer guests can swim in the big river swimming pool. The lodge is on a working sheep and cattle farm.

• Moonlight Lodge

Families or small groups can feel at home in this traditional 90-year-old East Coast farmhouse. The Lodge provides six bedrooms in doubles, twins and threes; a big kitchen, two bathrooms, a living room with a fireplace and a big old-fashioned verandah; plus a covered BBQ area and outdoor kitchen. Perfect for family get-togethers or small group get-aways. Meals, essentials, some grocery items and postal facilities are available a five-minute walk away at the Morere Tearooms.

• The Cabins

Two new self-contained cabins. Built from timber milled on the farm, these cabins were designed to look like traditional country huts on the outside, but finished with modern elegance on the inside. They come with their own bathrooms and kitchenettes with gas hobs and a microwave for cooking. Beautifully situated with their backs to the river and facing the sun and the view. Ideal for two, they can sleep three adults in a double and single bed, or two adults with two children on fold-out beds. Meals, essentials, some grocery items and postal facilities are available a five-minute walk away at the Morere Tearooms.

• Morepork Cottage

Self contained cottage with a double and twin room. Cosy with a beautiful sunny outlook it enjoys its own seclusion well away from other buildings. Lovely polished wood floors and french doors opening onto a little deck - just the place for an evening drink or breakfast before another East Coast day. The cottage is fully equipped with all bedding and towels supplied. Tea rooms is walking distance for meals, essentials and the morning paper.
